Fair. Most stores that look like this one aren't. So here is what can be verified, what can't yet, and what we're still deciding.
So I took the sequenceapart over two weeks.
I quicked Mabel — a nine-year-old greyhound with four black nails on her back feet — on a Sunday in March 2023. I had the clippers at the wrong angle, she screamed, and I spent the next ninety seconds holding a kitchen towel to her foot apologising to a dog who could not understand me. It stopped in about a minute. She was fine by dinner.
What was not fine was the next six months. She started leaving the room at the sound of the drawer the clippers lived in. I bought a quieter grinder, because that is what the ads told me to do, and it changed nothing — she was not afraid of the noise, she was afraid of the sequence. Me approaching, a paw being held, something happening she could not predict.
So I took the sequence apart over two weeks. That is the whole company.

We don't manufacture
The tools are made by contract manufacturers. That's true of nearly every brand in this category, and the ones implying otherwise are the ones to be careful with.

We do choose and test
Which is where the work is. We ordered 14 grinders from 6 suppliers and rejected 4 of them: two were loud enough to make Mabel leave, one had a drum that wobbled visibly at the high speed, and one arrived with a battery that would not hold a second charge.

We wrote the plan
The 14-day protocol is ours. It's the part we'd defend, it's free, and it works with a tool you bought somewhere else.

We ship it ourselves
Out of a unit on SE Water Ave in Portland, by two people, on USPS Ground Advantage. Anything ordered before 2pm PT on a weekday goes out the same afternoon.

Email is the fastest way and it reaches a person, not a queue. We answer inside one business day, and most of the time inside three hours.

Things we haven't earned yet
- No press coverage. There is no “as seen in” row on this site because there is nothing to put in it.
- No reviews yet, and no third-party verification badge. The review module on the product page is running on placeholders.
- No certifications, no vet endorsements, no clinical testing. If any of that appears here later, it will appear with a document you can open.
- Our decibel figures are our own bench measurements on a hand-held meter, not lab data. Treat them as indicative.
